I've struggled with the common definition of shyness -- how can I call myself "shy" when I can be so talkative?. The author points out that shy people adopt lots of different coping mechanisms to deal with an extroverted world -- mine is being a fake-extrovert, I guess!

However, I have some reservations about her methodology. I'd have to read her whole book to really understand her arguments, but from the summary, it seems that she creates straw men and makes some pretty large leaps of logic. For example, she states, "According to Darwin, the only purpose for sex is the transfer of sperm" then proceeds to dismantle that idea. The only problem? It's obvious the statement an oversimplified, inaccurate representation of Darwin's theory because it is so easily proven wrong! I'd love to read a more factually sound discussion of the evolution of homosexuality.
