I spend my days trying to teach science to little kids (but mostly just acting like a fool). I spend the rest of my time ... well, to be honest, I act like a fool most of the rest of the time, too!

I lived in one of these apartments for a while -- it was a challenging situation (to say the least!) Contact me if you'd like any more information...

I lost my breath laughing at the pictures from this page. Lots of pictures of terrified children and sketchy looking Santas. This one is my favorite!

Okay, normally I'm able to resist cuteness. But a hedgehog? And a laptop? I couldn't help myself.

What a sweet website -- you never know when knowing how to say "I love you" in an obscure language may come in handy!

A great article about shyness in all its forms. I could completely identify with the author (as I'm sure many can). I've struggled with the common definition of shyness -- how can I call myself "shy" when I can be so talkative?. The author points out that shy people adopt lots of different coping mechanisms to deal with an extroverted world -- mine is being a fake-extrovert, I guess!

I appreciate what the author is attempting to do -- make the case that evolutionarily homosexuality is natural and even beneficial. However, I have some reservations about her methodology. I'd have to read her whole book to really understand her arguments, but from the summary, it seems that she creates straw men and makes some pretty large leaps of logic. For example, she states, "According to Darwin, the only purpose for sex is the transfer of sperm" then proceeds to dismantle that idea. The only problem? It's obvious the statement an oversimplified, inaccurate representation of Darwin's theory because it is so easily proven wrong! I'd love to read a more factually sound discussion of the evolution of homosexuality.

This game may seem harmless and maybe a little strange, but beware! The more you play, the more you'll want to keep playing until you're hopelessly addicted. Don't let yourself become a beer bottle flinging junkie like me. Save yourself!

I was an intern here last year, and I can attest to the fact that this organization is full of great people who do really good work. And they're also very nice to their interns! Check out the scorecard to see how environmentally friendly your members of Congress are (and if they have a low score, write and complain!)

For the past few years, this site has created a story around the Playschool advent calendar, updating daily. Sounds kind of lame, but I think it's absolutely charming -- I find myself checking every day to read the next installment. I recommend reading the past few years as well -- they're bizarre, but strangely addictive!

Any "authority" on women that recommends responding to her question with, "Can't you think of something more interesting to ask me? What is this, an interview?" does not get a lot of respect from me! Bad advice from someone who thinks he'll have more sucess with women by playing games than by being genuine and kind.
